Meet Firefly, Photoshop's Ai tool

Updated: Feb 19, 2024

Ai post

Hey there, digital wanderers and pixel pandits! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet where creativity meets technology. Today, I'm here to spill the tea on my latest Ai escapades, and trust me, it's a good one!

Recently, I snagged myself a new-used laptop (hello, upgrade!). It's not the crown jewel of technology, but hey, it gets the job done. I'm not planning to run the digital Olympics on it – just need it for crafting blog posts like this one here and basic photo editing. I got my laptop this place called The GRID, which is basically GoodWill for electronics. They have everything you need for your computer or game console.

I went and got myself a Dell Latitude 5590 – 8GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD for a pretty good price! For a semi-pro Photoshop maven like me, it's the perfect sidekick for my photo editing adventures (and maybe some video?).

So, new laptop means new beginnings, right? Cue the drumroll for the re-downloading/re-installing marathon. As I waited for Lightroom to download onto my laptop, I found myself meandering through Creative Cloud. And that's when I stumbled upon Firefly, Adobe's AI generator. As you've probably figured out by now, AI is my latest obsession. It's like this dazzling new plaything that just breathes fresh new life into my creative shenanigans.

I've been on the Photoshop wave since 10th grade. Oh, how time flies when you're having fun with pixels! I'd like to call myself an avid user of photoshop. Not exactly a pro, but I'm not a n00b either. So when I found out about Frirefly, I got excited! Ai is just photoshop dialed to 11.

Naturally, I had to take Firefly out for a spin. First project? Ice cream. Keep it simple. And oh, did it look deliciously digital 😋.

it looks real enough right? Definitely doesn't have that eerie smoothness that you get when you use apps like bing.ai. My only complaint is that I asked for sprinkles, and those look like Nerds. I'll allow it, but that's what I asked for. Looks yummy asf though! 😋

I'm thinkin Firefly is gonna be one of those anti-copyright generators. Like, you won't be able to generate Barbie dressed as batman. You can on other apps, but not firefly.

I also like the different camera angles and light settings that it comes with. We're just playing with images now

Playing with Firefly is going to be my new guilty pleasure, dabbling in AI alchemy to whip up some eye-candy. All I do is play with pictures. One way or another

Catch you in the next post, where I'll be flaunting more of these AI-masterpieces!
