If Remini and Reface Had A Baby, It'd be Retake

Hello my fellow nerds! Today I wanna talk about this new app that I found called Retake. I think I found it through one of Facebooks/Instagram's ads. It's my new favorite thing now! One thing you need to know about me is that I like to play around with images and this is just another toy to play with! Basically, it streamlines what I was trying to accomplish with Remini and Reface.

Now what I can do is generate an image with Bing, and then use Retake to blend my face on it. I've been using Reface to do this and the results are....okay. You still have to go back and do some post-processing

because the images they give you are blurry and they don't blend the faces that well. But now that I've found Retake, I might just send Reface to the recycle bin!

So far, it's completely free to use! Usually there's a picture limit or you can only use certain images/features, but so far, the free version seems to be limitless! I even went ahead a tried the "3 day free trial". Nothing changed 🥴 Same amount of images, same wait time, same quality. Sounds like its free to me! Even if you did have to pay, it's only $30/yr which ain't bad. Some apps make you pay weekly, or the yearly is something outrageous like $80! #gtfoh with that noise!

Weekly subscriptions are a finesse. $4 a week for a year is $208. You're already saving a SIGNIFICANT amount of money by just taking that $30 L and doing a yearly subscription. And that's assuming the weekly sub is $4. Sometimes it's more. Like around $7.

What I like most about Retake right now, is their face edit feature. It's like Reface in that you take an image from your phone and upload it and put a face on it, and it's like remini in that it trains a face and apply that face to the image. Creating a smooth blend of images.

When I use reface, I still have to do more edits because the image is still blurry (in 2024 🙄)

My only con is that this app has a neck problem. There's a lot of pictures where the neck looks long and weird! Like, unnaturally long😂

Another issue I found, is that you can only retrain a face once every 7 days. You get one retrain after your initial first one, and then after that you have to wait. So make sure they're images you wanna use!

I call shenanigans on that, but okay. Other apps don't take that long... Mind you I was on the free trial for a pro account and this still popped up. So ultimately, paying for it seems to be a waste of your money. You don't get any perks for paying. Nothing on the app is "locked" per se. There's virtually no difference between paid and not paid. The way inflation is setup, don't pay!

Ultimately if you're looking for a free alternative to Reface (Remini has extra features that Retake doesn't, like photo editing, so I would still hang on to Remini) I would recommend Retake! It's available in the apple and play store! #notsponsored
